call sheet

The daily call sheet is a filmmaking term for a sheet of paper issued to the cast and crew of a film production, created by an assistant director, informing them where and when they should report for a particular day of shooting. Call sheets also include other useful information such as contact information (e.g. phone numbers of crew members and other contacts), the schedule for the day, which scenes and script pages are being shot, and the address of the shoot location. Call sheets may also provide logistical information regarding the location. It is common to find weather information, sunrise/sunset times, local hospitals, restaurants, and hardware stores. Call sheets have information about cast transportation arrangements, parking instructions and safety notes.

Health and Safety

There are several risks in filming this project. Here is a list of them and precautions that should be taken against them.

• Hazardous ground - the streets we will be filming on may be uneven, injury by tripping is possible. The risk is increased by the fact that for some shots, the cameraman has to be walking backwards. The risk would be decreased if the ground was inspected first, so particularly hazardous areas may be avoided.
• The public - We will be filming in a public area, as such, members of the public could be collided with, or could trip over our equipent Injuring the public and the public injuring one of us should be avoided through care and avoiding crowded areas.
• Weather - if there is rain, the ground could be slippery and the camera could suffer water damage. Filming in the rain should be avoided.
• Equipment hazards - Injury could be sustained through the equipment we will have with us e.g. tripping. This could be avoided with care and attention to our surroundings.
• City-dwelling animals - Animals that live in cities such as cats and pigeons present a unique threat. They could attack, or transmit a disease to one of us. They should be avoided.
• Vehicles - Public vehicles such as bikes, cars, buses and electric skateboards could injure any one of us by crashing into us or our equipment. This should be avoided by filming away from roads and cycle paths.

Hype Williams

hype williams in his videos used hes own style of techniques to show his creativity and to engage target audience. In videos like Kanye West's "all of the lights" and "heartless", he used animations that contrasted with the realistic shots. Also in these videos and Kesha's "we are who we are", he uses alot of strobe lighting to show creativity and surreal images.
In most of his videos, he cuts quickly between different shots to add more pace to the video, and the song itself. He also enjoys using the black and white filter in most of his videos and uses different angles when doing a close up of the artist/band he works with.

Inspiration video 6 (Plain White T's - Hey there Delilah)

We got the black and white idea from this video, it creates a down beat mood  and can be useful as we no longer need to film in the dark, therefore having planty of light to film in, all we need to do is change the colour of the video when it comes to the editing

Inspiration video 5 (Justin Beiber - Baby)

In this video, we got the idea of the guy getting close to the girl only to be pushed away

Inpiration picture (Olly Murs' album cover)

We decided that Ben should dress up in a smart casual way for when he is following the girl, so we thought it'd be good if he could follow the dress type on Olly Murs' cover for his single 'Please don't let me go'. Obviously it won't be the exact same but he will be wearing something similar.

Inspiration video 4 (Olly Murs - Thinking of me)

From this video, we gained inspiration for the setting, with the cobbled floor an the small street ideas. We thought It'd look pretty cool for this kind of video

Inspiration video 3 (Taio Cruz feat. Ludacris - Break your heart)

In this video, we gained the idea of following the girl from the beginning part where the girl is following Taio Cruz from the car to the boat, This could also be useful as we can choose which character to focus on when the following scene comes up e.g. make one character more blurry than the other.

Inspiration video 2 (The Script - For the First Time)

The beginning of this video gave us the idea of writing out what the person is saying/singing, we thought this could be effective because it could give the impression that the artist is writing the song and making it up in front of them.

Inspiration video 1 (3 doors down - here without you)

For this video, we gained inspiration for the 'rehearsal' idea with all the instruments shown playing and the main singer singing. We chose the white room to replicate a rehearsal room because it's quite small and in a way looks similar to a recording studio.

Performance
- Before the song starts to play, Ben walks into the white room where the rest of the band are waiting for a rehearsal, Ben hangs his jacket/coat up, when Ben sits down the music starts to play (band pretend to play) and when the singer starts Ben begins to write lyrics on the paper.
- After it says 'lover don't you', it cuts to Ben going after a girl who has just walked away from him and trying to catch up with her. Whilst Ben is following her, he will be miming the rest of the first verse.
- For the second verse, Ben catches up with the girl and talks to her through the lyrics, then at the end of it the girl walks away again
- In the chorus, we decided to use a flashback where the girl is shown waiting for him looking at a watch for the line 'And if I was late, then I'm sorry', but as she walks out of shot, Ben walks on to show the fact she was waiting for him, instead of randomly standing somewhere then walking off. For the line(s) 'And if I was you, I'd be angry too, I'd be angry too, But I am not you', It shows the girls emotions by showing her walk away from me with angry emotions.
- For the third verse, it cuts back to Ben in the 'rehearsal' room, writing and miming to the song.
- In the first line of the fourth verse, 'Yes, I would like to walk away', it shows Ben walking away from the girl instead (contrasts first verse) and for the rest of the verse it shows Ben in the 'rehearsal' room again writing the rest of the verse and showing the band play.
- Then for the upcoming chorus', Ben looks at his phone to check the time, realises he's late (again), runs out of the 'rehearsal' room to go find where he was meant to meet her onlt to find out she isn't there.
- For the last verse, it shows Ben standing on his own where he'd have met her and mimes the song to himself until the last line where he walks off.

The video definitely portrays the genre of hip hop as it includes a lot of voyeurism through women seductively dancing around men and the artist himself. There is also a lot of costume and location changes throughout the video. All of the people in the video when they were 'in da club' they were all dancing in a way that the genre would be expected to do. The artist was shown a lot to promote him, also, Eminem and Dr. Dre were shown as well in the video to promote them too. Music matched visuals otherwise the dancing would like pretty stupid, the beat also matched a few of the cuts.

 In each digi pack we were given/chose, the same colours and visuals were similar to the ones used on the package. For example, on the Top Of The Pops package, a lot of block colours are shown and the logo's which have been used and changed over the years appeared in each song on the disc.

The Lonely Island feat. Michael Bolton - Jack Sparrow:

•  Mocks the stereotypical elements in other songs and imitates well known artists and characters
• Goodwin's point exaggerated as below:
• They show the genre of comedy music; there is more emphasis on things like The Lonely Island getting all the girls like in a stereotypical R'n'B video, but the comedy is added through Michael Bolton singing and pretending to be Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean, which is also an intertextual reference.
• Voyeurism is expressed through the women shown in the video
• There is also a definite match between the lyrics and the visuals, likewise with the music and visuals. 
• Shows artists talents in music studio

• The video shows a message against domestic violence

• Was shocking because ginger people are being battered by the police
• The message created a sense of discrimination, prejudice, and racism in a way
• Lyrics sort of matched visuals as did the music

A music video in which the artist shown differently
Ed Sheeran - A Team, Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You:

• His first song, A Team, is more down beat than 'YNMIDNY' as the first shows that he is a good singer, and the second provides Sheeran with a bit of variety portraying that he can rap as well.
• A Team also gives a more meaningful message to anyone, whereas his other one is mainly talking about himself.

The original image we found was in colour but we changed the image to be mainly in black and white to convey her emotions as well as the emotion on her face. We kept the rose in colour to make it stand out and just to look cool. We chose this picture of Rihanna because the song title matches the mood in which is being portrayed. We used all of the conventions which were written on the board in lesson so it made it seem more realistic.

The Auteur Theory

• This is a French film theory which can be applied to many forms of media now.

• Andre Bazin was a film critic and was one of the people who came up with this idea, he also wrote and edited the film journal Cahiers du Cinema.
• The theory is basically the directors film that reflects directors creativity from the director themselves
• The Auteur is the copyright holder of their product
• The theory was formed in 1954 mainly by Francois Traffaut.
• It championed directors like Alfred Hitchcock
• Theory constructed on mise en scene
